That's a gorgeous colour.

The best thing is that the flowers bloom on bare branches and onces the flowering is over the leaves come in.

Sounds lovely - it would make a great sight seeing bare branches covered in these fantastic rich red flowers.

Do you no the name, I have one similar but more purple called' Susan'

You right there are lots of varieties of magnolia's...even I have a Magnolia Susan..you wont believe...a friend got it for me all the way from france.
This one is Magnolia Lilyflora...it is pinkish in clour once the buds open up.
