Thanks to Moongrower's advice, I have moved the Aser down off the decking to just behind the back end of the GH & the neighbouring fence.
Hope this protects it and sees it flourish again as it's a favourite of mine.

Had a look G....pretty impressive. I wouldn't mind mine being like that or maybe a bit smaller.
How do they fare in part shade in quite boggy soil? I would like to plant it near my pond,when I get it put in. Think it would look nice overhanging but no good if the location is no good.
Any thoughts?

i repotted mine this year as leaves were curled rather than spread out, now its looking lovely with lots of new growth,, if you want it near pond just keep it in a pot, it would still look good

I feel you will have to move it again at some point Billie, as they grow quite large fortunately they are slow growing.........Have a look on my pixs at my Acer to give you an idea of how large.
