This is lovely.
I was sad to discover by my test last year that they just wont come through winter for me. Disheartening. I couldn't treat them like an annual, they are just too lovely to let go each year. :-)

Oh, shame they won't overwinter outside, you have them in pots then Greenthumb so you can move them out of the cold weather ?

8 months inside is a little long for them and then they don't bloom. I tried that too. Maybe stashed in the dark cold with the bulbs?

Oh dear.
Do you have a conservatory type room over there Greenthumb ? They're not just a British thing are they ?
Or heated greenhouse ?
I confess to ignorance on the houses/builds in your State.

A few people have conservatory type spaces, but with our -40 they are expensive to heat. There isn't sun in winter most places to help keep things going if its too warm. I store things in the dark along the floor on the north wall where it stays cool. But roots don't sleep well at the 50F there and need light. Trial and error. I do get fuschia through okay, but they are a bit high maintenance.
