Hello Janette,
I Thought you might like to try an alternative approach. Like you I suffered with the local cat community using my raised veggie beds as giant public cat litter trays, especially when the surfaces dry out. I confided in a friend to seek a humane solution, as though I have no real love for cats, physical approaches were out of the question. Take used tea bags, well wetted then each given a couple of drops of Tea Tree Oil and then placed indiscriminantly around the edges of all my raised beds seems to have done the trick, At least all my seedlings became established in their intended rows. Worth a try. I am using a similar ploy at a friends garden to keep Muntjac deer from her herbaceous border. Could be working there too as she has had Tulips actually reach flowering for the first time in three years. All the best Dioon11
