Oh thats great Sunblest looking real healthy was a bit worried when saw your first pic as not easy to raise fledglings away from nest well done you as assume you spent many hours day and night nuturing it.

My son brought it home over a week ago, a guy he works with found it and he couldn't look after it, so my son said he would take it home and try and get it to fledge. I have been looking after it and feeding it on mealworms soaked in a little water. I took it outside in the garden today, but he doesn't seem ready to go yet!

Wonder if someone might ring him to keep track of him in the future? Your local RSPB branch would be able to advise.

I took it back to Longhirst were it was originally found and I'm pleased to say it fledged successfully. It circled the field I let it go in and then flew in to the next field. It was a joy to have had such a lovely bird for a little while!
