Rudbeckia 'Cherokee Sunset'

Starting to look like a flower in the yellow southeast bed. This bed is really going to look marvelous full bloom. Very pleased.

Thank you Doon. I wish they survived here or reseeded. But I'll just keep starting them up and putting them in. They are a wonderful feature in our fall when they are fully blooming. This particular variety has many forms of bloom and many mixes of stained yellow. Makes a nice mass planting.

I agree, but surely you can harvest the seeds? hang the plant before frost upside down to get the seeds before frost.

I'll try that. Last year I had to cut them for vases, since the first frost bit in during the first bunch. These are well ahead of those, I might have a chance with them a bit more mature.

These are beautiful. I just love the double blooming ones.

Thanks FC. This variety has got a hold of me. Always a nice multicolor and usually double. I'm trying Doon suggestion for collecting my own seed this year. (Great new avatar) :-)

Thanks GT, I thought it was time to update, so all the new GOY'ers could see who they were talking to..lol Saving seeds is a excellent idea. I do it whenever possible too, sure can save some money that way. Well I don't know if I can really claim to be saving it, when I'm actually buying more plants with it...lol

lol...That'd be my case too. But it will help me preserve this variety for myself for the future. Things can disappear in availability here very easily.
