I see your soil looks very dry, just like ours here in Essex.Most areas seem to have had a lot of rain this summer, but not us and the wind dries the ground out too!

Yes, that area of the garden is very prone to drying out. However, I must admit this was taken a couple of months ago. But I'm only over the water in Gravesend Kent so not far as the crow flies, or should I say rain cloud! :0)

Also I live in an old chalk pit!!

Oh, yes you're very close to us. I'm in Corringham, Thurrock. But our soil is very heavy clay not chalky like Gravesend and the other end of Thurrock(near Lakeside)
