Looks like some hard work ahead - you do have some great tall screening trees at the back. Welcome to GOY - I'm sure there will be lots of great suggestions from some of the more experienced gardeners.

I reckon you should get Oddbillie round when you've moved in to help clear it all back and then we can work on a blank canvas. Great size to play with and we WILL get you eating veggies Cragsta!!
This is my future son-in-law BH!!
Wonder how he got to hear about GoY?????

You've let him in on the secret haven't you? Cragsta - I think you should definitely get Oddbillie round and put him to work. Clearing it all back would be my suggestion too - hope you find some great plants in amongst the jungle. Is that a stone pathway down the middle? You could make a great feature out of that. Sounds like there will definitely be a vegie bed!

Problem is BH, I cooked him a duck stir fry a while back and he ate veg for the first time!!!!! He's made me promise I'll never tell his mother when I meet her.....he's over 30 as well!!
I will look forward to helping them out as they did so much for me in my garden.....oh, sorry, no they didn't!! lol!
I'll get him interested in the garden and in MORE veggies.....:0)-

Does sound familiar - my youngest son voluntarily ate a salad for the first time when he was 25 (that's a salad on a plate - he'd had tomato and lettuce on burgers before, but that was it!) He shocked me completely last week when he told me he'd eaten a vegetarian pizza - well at least it had vegies!

Thanks for all the Greetings guys and gals.
I'm a dab hand with a strimmer tbh.
Soon as its all clear and Oddbillie has submitted the new garden plans and they have been approved by the Mrs, i'll give him the hefty budget of £50 and he can transform it into the garden of dreams.

Sounds like Oddbillie is going to very busy. Can't wait to see the transformation - especially given that hefty budget!

Still waitng for the keys for this property, so will be a little while before i'll be let loose on this garden. Had some good news from a friend the other day, he used to work for a gardening company and has alot of surplus industrial weed killer. So hopefully this should speed things up a little.....

I think that's just the budget for my vodka Bernieh!!!
28 Aug, 2009
Oh dear .. starting to worry about this project now! Once you've bombed the weeds and drunk the vodka, will it be looking a whole lot better?
29 Aug, 2009
Have faith Bernie!! Yee of little vodka....hic!! lol!
It will take some time as they have a lot of work to do internally first which will probably take preference but I'll see what I can squeeze out of their budget for the garden!!

Hi Cragsta! Welcome to Goy!
Why in the name of GoY are you asking US for help if you've got Dan on board??????????
Dont think the budget'll even cover the vodka! Dont let him get you a pond rhino!

Lol MP!
Pond rhino all the way MP....or maybe pond giraffe?
One to think on methinks. You have such a low opinion of me when it comes to vodka.....what makes you think I even like it????? :0))~~~

Greetings Folks!!!
The above photo is of the rear garden of the new house I have purchased with my partner. As you can see it has a few over growing issues, any suggestions?
