Taken your advice YDD and repotted. I feel terrible as I obviously got it wrong - I know it's all a learning curve - but hopefully, with a little luck, it might just survive.
I've place him under the conifers which are mostly shade with some sun early morning - but not much as we're blocked out by a mighty Oak next door! Thanks to all for the advice and fingers crossed now.....

Oh right, I wasn't sure. Will it be better to do that then SB?
There is the one large almost full leaf left and a smaller probably half of a leaf left on another stem.
Help me out here.....do I cut it at the base of the stem, just above the soil?
God, what a kerfuffle. makes you feel awful when this happens doesn't it!! lol!

i would cut above soil leaving the good leaf, so the plant doesnt loose goodness through dead growth, but dont worry im sure it will survive
