That path needs weeding, elke!! In fact, the beds are becoming somewhat overcrowded too - we need to do some dividing.

I did a lot of dividing of my daylilies last year, Elke, and the blooms are few and far between. Lots of foilage. Most of them have lots of sun, and I'm wondering if I should leave them to see if they will do better next year, or yank them up and resite this year. What do you think, Elke? I'm certain they are not too deep down.

We have always been very lucky with the blooming, Newfienurse, no matter how many times we divide and replant. However, we do feed the ground well, with year-old horse manure from the farm next door. That has helped. Ours love the sun. Perhaps yours just need more time to settle in before they will bloom. I would ask other GoY members, like Jacque, Bernieh, Bigbumblebee and Spritzhenry (to name just a few!), who really know their day lilies.
Take care Monday in case Bill hits your area.

Good luck to you as well, Elke...I understand that Bill will be much more harder for you guys than us.. Current predictions are for 110 kms/hr winds and 100mm of rain..Staking the plants and getting the generator going in case of power failure....TAKE CARE..hopefully this "bill" will veer out into the Atlantic!
