hi Tussiemussie,
Pleonie is the common name and Formosana is the easiest to grow, they are tender i treat them as half hardy. I bought them about 15 years ago got them from Holland about 30 bulbs. Last year i had about six hundred and fifty. I give a lot away to friends and passers byes i put a few in my front garden and people ask what they are i usually finish giving them a pot full. I must warn you don't get the bug last year one rare bulb sold for forty pounds so be warned.
