I just love these Rheus and got a couple of tiny ones a couple of years ago.....I doubt if I will see them mature - but I live in hope!! That is a real specimen...love it to bits!

I'ts growing sideways Alzheimer. So along with advice from Bamboo I'm going to cut it halfway down the trunk and start growing it again. (hopefully)!

OMG....I am sure Bamboo is right ....but I actually like it growing at an angle...as nature must have intended. Maybe it is getting in the way though?
I will be interested to see a pic of it when it has been sawn in half !!!!

Yes it does get in the way, it's at a 45 degree angle now. You have to duck under it to cut the grass. It wasn't too bad untill I took the stake out but I think the weight of the top is pulling it down.

Oh well...fair enough - it does need the chop then if it is top heavy. Such a shame though - it is gorgeous.
