Hi...Eggbox just asked my question...I'm thinking of making a dove cote but had no idea about scale... Yours looks much larger than I had envisioned...It was an aha! moment...of course, much larger birds. lol.
I have seen rock doves in the neighbourhood, don't know if they belong to someone on the street...or if they are wild but there are also mourning doves and I just love those, too. What an interesting feature...also wanted to know a little about the muntjac deer...I'm from 'cross the pond...we have white tailed deer that are so plentiful they stop traffic and at times cause accidents. The muntjac look very petite...hard to get angry at something so sweet and innocent looking...but I gather you share your garden with them...Good for you...

Some time ago I introduced Paul to garden visiting by taking him to a quirky private garden locally which is occasionally open to the public. Paul was intrigued and got into conversation with the owner. It transpired that he had a new, smaller dovecote to replace the larger one in his garden but had nowhere to put the old one. Well, it isn't very often one has the opportunity to bring back a piece of garden as a souvenir (and the price suited both parties). It is now a quirky feature in my garden, yet to be refurbished and properly installed ..... it will be just as soon as life stops getting in the way :-)
The muntjac deer are enchanting, if somewhat galling in their menu preferences. They live in the beech woodland hereabouts, although they originate from China I believe.

You're saying they were brought to England as a curiosity? I was envisioning the Scottish Stags with the huge ruffs and antlers...when I saw your little dears...lol. (puns are such a curse)
Wow you really lucked out with the dove cote... it really is a lovely feature. will look forward to seeing it with tenants!
