This has been in my garden for some years and just gets stronger and stronger, withstanding even last winter's frost and snow with minimum protection.

Very sensible! I think this agave is going to stay where it is for ever, I'd need a full suit of armour to get anywhere near its base. Have got yucca too but it is in a bit less prominent position. I love these spikey plants!

Have been growing these for some time, but we lost ours last year, have some babies, used to put corks on the spikes to protect the children.....

I know - I thought I would have lost it this year. Was in a planter for a while and then we put it in the ground and it has gone from strength to strength; the garden is south facing though and its not far from the front wall of my house, so probably well protected. Mind you, you can't replant these too often, those spikes are absolutely lethal!! I do cut the tips off where people walk past.
