These are great, Armerias are often used in rock gardens.
I have some that are a cerise colour and flowers on a slightly longer stalk.

Right, Louise1, yours (with longer stalks) is Armeria maritima. Above is Armeria juniperifolia.

It is a great plant. When I got it 2 years ago it was a size of a fist. Now it's like a football.
