I said that the white bellflower got big, black seed pods. That was wrong. This is the plant that got really big, way too big for my flowerbed. I can't remember what the flower looks like now since I wasn't here last summer.
It was this plant I ripped out and tugged and pulled at. I know I removed some of that Bellflower too.
So I'm not sure what this plant is, but I recognize the leaves now and realize it was this one that was too big and I yanked out. I'll leave it alone and let it grow and see what it does next summer.
