I have one of these. It's called Sedum sieboldii but it's nothing like this though.

I wouldn't have known that - i've not seen one before. I liked the look of it, unusual - i thought.

It flowers about this time of year and then dies right back to the ground.

That's interesting. I didn't know any cactus or succulents did die down, to be honest.

They don't usually do that but this one does. I also know of a succulent Euphorbia that dies down aswell. I used to have one in the garden. It was hardy, but I don't have it now - it died off.
