this is sedum spectabile...I think. I love it's colour and when the cold weather comes it becomes bronzey... great plant and usually very hardy..perhaps if given more protection? they do ok here with no winter protection whatever.

I'm tenmpted by sedum, there were some around tagged as though they would live the winter, I didn't trust them :-) The bushes with pink flowers like this at work were spirea. I'll have to get some sedum next year and try them out.

ah yes... spirea are a lovely hardy shrubs and they've been crossed and recrossed so that there are some truly pretty var. I like the yellow foliage...but you can't beat the hardy green leafed var with the wonderful pink blossom. they should be hardy up there! By all means, try the sedum...give it some winter protection and see how it does... would be an interesting trial. I get e/m updates on shrubs in development from Tim Wood Planthunter...have you seen his pages on the inet? check him out...he was involved in the development of the Incrediball Hydrangeas.

This is lovely, what is it? They tried this plant outside my workplace but then last years temps on a first year winter, we lost it. I think they are so beautiful. Of course next to the biulding there wasn't much snow to protect it.
