Trails in Denali Park

The trails are all moose or bear trails like this winding through the tundra. All the silver is called Caribou or Reindeer Lichen, a common ground dweller.

:-) Thanks. Establishing trails is prohibited in the preserve, so only this nature made ones exist.

lichens are one of the oldest life forms on the planet! would be interesting to be able to check out all the mosses, lichens, and plants that thrive in the tundra. are there blueberries?

The moss and lichen here are incredible. Tundra is like a cushion on the ground everywhere you go. We have alot of blueberries, come to think of it, I took a blueberry field photo, but I don't remember if I posted it. They are all scarlet right now. Any scarlet in these photos are blueberry or kinnick kinnick.
