Sorry Blody n - just ordinary old fatsia!!! And I think this is in its death throes, been attacked by scale badly and is throwing off leaves in varying shades of yellow at a geat rate - this bud is on a separate stem which its put up so the survival gene is working well!

Brilliant pic Antig....I grew one in a pot (no ground space)......and it looked beautiful (no flowers yet)....My nephew Ben got married and moved into a lovely new house with a bare garden, i gave it to him and he planted it in a corner area of his lawn...it looks fabulous.....great plant...do they die after flowering?....:<(

Sorry for delayed reply! No mine has been going for years and is quite large now. Had a bad attack of scale though but I painted the afflicted parts with meths (!) and it seems to have survived ok. they are basically an ivy I think? so tough as old boots! Have seen variegated versions but believe them to be a bit more delicate.
Good luck to Ben then with it in his garden - and a long and happy life to him his wife and their fatsia!
