Next year we might have a open garden session and donate monies to charity

If you open your garden to the public, you are entering a minefield, Hijuju. There are several of us on GOY who do this for the NGS, and they provide the Public Liability Insurance that you'll need to have.
Have you considered getting in touch with the Essex County Organiser for the NGS about opening your garden?
