Dying rainforest tree (Rainforest tree name unknown)

This is , or should I say was a lovely rainforest tree [don't know its name]which decided to die, maybe it got crowded out by a stronger species , who knows , but the thing I find very interesting is as it died it oozed resin .The resin is hard set now and has interesting shapes ,it also shines in the streams of sunlight which get through from the canopy above.

You'll have to get into jewellery making now and use the amber it would be a beautiful mementoe of the tree

I can't see me making jewelery I can only use one arm and hand, and at nearly 75 years a bit late to start.I have sent an email to a gem /jewelery club and asked advice.I do hope it can be used its so pretty.

I'm not too sure but I seem to remember watching a programme about amber, it's the very same sap that has fallen into the sea many years ago and washed up on a beach, sometimes with an unfortunate insect in it. Like most of you I like to keep my eyes on the ground while walking on the beach, the pebbles are fascinating. I've often fancied lapadry (think that's how it's spelt).

Heron .I also waned to do the rock collecting gem collecting thing as well but found there is not enough time in one lifetime to do all you desire . Only one answer we have to come back again.
