Sad about the burn, but it has exposed this expanse of labrador tea (Ledum palustre) and all the lichens and mosses of the tundra floor. This is fall brown, but a return trip is meritted. All the Ledum will blooms couds of white in spring.

I'm definately making a return trip to catch that. One of my favorite spring flowers too.

Burns do their jobs as they are meant to...I like these colors for fall..and it should be lovely in the spring as you have said.

This exposure really showed me this rich ruddy color the ledum goes to for fall. I've never seen so much of just it!

The landscape does look so desolate after a fire - we have the same problem over here all the time. It would be great to see this corner a little later on when all the ledum starts to bloom.
