Aurora Illuminating the Trees

Here you can just see the treetops to the north through the light band (aurora borealis as it weaves lower across the north sky. Hopefully I've my tripod when a reall show gets going.

We have seen them here and in the San Juan Islands GT but oh so rare it is..it gave us a show about 8 years ago..we saw it from our house but I heard people talking about how they had stepped outside and people all over were out running from house to house waking people up and before long pratically whole town was standing in the streets in their robes watching! I am sure it was nothing like the show they give up there and it was a rare occurance for here...I am looking forward to your pictures...good luck!

Thanks Cat and yes, we are spoiled with them. Not uncommon at all. I hope to catch some better than this, it was faint.
