Thank you... The tree is Eucalyptus, which does not shed it's leaves, only does it shed a few in summer, so at the moment it is blowing about in all this high wind that we have at the moment.

Ah, i wondered if it was.
You prune it then to keep it more square across the top, instead of letting it go skywards !

Yes that's right. Pruning can be a pain though. We have coal tits nesting in the box on the tree every year, and a couple of wood pigeons in the upper branches later on.

I was having this very conversation earlier today !
I was considering one and keeping it as a short shrub, have decided against it now because of the amount of pruning required !
