This garden was much neglected and overgrown, but by the hard work and dedication of the Church members, it is now fully restored and open to all members of the public as a place of rest. This specimen is the multi-stemmed form of the species and it dates from its introduction to Europe in the mid-nineteenth century when it was very popular for the bigger gardens.

Lovely specimen pic. It looks to be particularly well suited to ivy growth too, lots to scramble on. :-)
