Just a friendly little sparrow; he has distinctive eye stripes and a little rusty cap. It is so nice that our summer birds have begun to arrive!

Hi Xela! Our wide temperature range makes for quite a variety of birds here. Some stay year round, some go "south" for winter, and some move down here from even farther "north" for winter! So it is interesting to note their comings and goings as well as marvel at the hardy year round residents.

Here in the UK sparrows don't migrate, so it seemed strange to read of them being one of the summer birds. I guess in Ontario it gets so cold there aren't many birds that don't migrate, if any :-)
