Usually these show up in flocks in March. This little single one has been feeding as much as he can stuff in all month, whenever the chickadees aren't around.

Thank you. Clogs up at the bottom, but nothing I can't fix quick. I would like to add a table just below it, they often spend time on the porch picking up things. Plus I can add peanuts and draw the grey jays, some say a trash bird, but I would like some visits.

Thanks Clarice. I don't think I could do better for myself, other than find a blue one. :-)

The cars intrigue me. The one in the middle looks like a Ford coupe of about 1935. The one on the right looks most unusual, what could it be?

That car is a nice year, a racer. I'd have to ask the landlord. He kept the body because it was original. And the other is a boat, he was going to reseal and put in another engine. In front of me is the back of them. Bianca sleeps in the old car, on the backseat on most summer days. :-)

Wonderfully captured cute little bird must be hungry.

Thanks. He was terribly hungry, I was glad he had here to feed. He was stuffing himself every few hours. Very uncommon to see one without a flock. I think he was lost. Now the flocks are in and I somewhat miss him. The new fascination is the shy little boreal chickadee, always alone.

Perhaps it will returen next year. Funny how you always get loaners.

For a flocking bird I think the feeder and the big trees around are safe and secure when its alone. I want to add more feeding space to draw bigger birds with berries and nuts. I just love their visits, and Bianca gets so much out of it, having to be inside all winter.

Hope you succeed in attracting the larger birds.

It's amazing how these little things survive such harsh weather.
