Thank you very much Jaque. I'm only beginning to learn about cottage gardens which I sorta grew by accident. The marigolds are a necessity bcs there's a lot of garden predators here in NW Indiana. They are so showy tho aren't they? I love them and all you have to do is drop the seeds on the ground and they grow although I cover them a little. If you don't like where they are dig them up and move them and they just keep on growing. In the Fall you can harvest hundreds of seeds from them. If the industry finds out how great marigolds are they'll outlaw us growing them! And the collards in the pic turned out to be a good trap crop. Something else I didn't even know about before. The alligator didn't eat much.
