2. The Tree Surgeon at work

Early December 2009 the tree surgeons get to work cutting down six and a half mature (30 years plus) trees which were growing too near the house, lifting the drive or casting too much shade. They brought along a shredder and left me lots of mulch. After they left we decided that the half tree was not a good idea it should have gone too. We are going to cut off the foliage and grow a climbing/rambling rose and some clematis on it. This tree was four foot in diameter at the bottom. It had started to die and branches were in danger of falling on our heads. I would say when I plant again I will ensure whatever goes in is much more suitable for the spaces available. This tree is being replaced by a Garrya Elliptica.
