When I was younger everyone had a homemade version of these to hold their long lines up off the ground, then along came rotary lines. The washing has never billowed since. But I never saw a painted one before - perhaps you will start a revival

line props are the best...ive painted all my dolly pegs too.

I remember these ... they were in the backyards of both my grandmas down here. I can also remember vividly helping my Grandma Grace pull the washing out of the old copper, slapping it in the wicker laundry basket and then hanging it on the washing line when the prop had been lowered. You really don't see these much any more.

now we are abit more concerened about not useing soo much electric; they will come back.
