I have frost damage on mine as well just the same as on the photo.I have others which were neaver marked by the frost and are as they were last year.The one which was damaged i cut back to near the trunk to solid bark,as they will shoot out new growth not only from the trunk but the root section as well.It will give them a new lease of life.It will also make the new sections more hardy and not as prone to frost damage.Hope this is of some help.

everywhere i go i see these and all damaged by the frost and strong winds too.my friend has cut his right back. it just looks like a stump now at about 3 ft high. do you think it will grow new growth then aubrey? id better ring him and tell him to keep, i told him it wouldnt come back lol
