thanks yorkshire, thought it might give everyone an idea of the size of garden although this a few years ago, my little plot! i'd just potted the maple into that big pot at the time and put the clematis in the other one.

Looks as if you`ve got some good shrubs in there.

hi stroller, i do like shrubs and perennials, i have a continus and cornus alba, i think that is a philadelphus at the end on the left, but i took it out for some reason! theres a couple of hydrangea and some astillbe this border is east facing so quite shady, my garden is north facing. Im planning to put a border across the back fencing hopefully this year, or at least get it ready.

The border across the back fence sounds a good idea since it will be south facing and extend the range of plants you can grow.

thanks again shinobi, again i have got lots i want to do, but then again thats what gardening about isnt it, but had back of house extended and new patio and fencing so now want to finally get some order into the garden, including making a border along the bottom fence so i have borders all round the garden, we have done quite a bit so far, (hubby and me) he's painted the fencing and the arbour seat, ive done some weeding and tidying!
