we planted this tree around 2000 but sadly early 2009 no sign of any buds and it had died. It was beautiful when it was in full leaf.

Oh, that's a shame. I tried to grow this as well, but it never grew at all. I believe they are quite tricky as they are so brittle - shame because they are so beautiful!

it grew really well all the years we had it except for the year before it died, the leaves looked all curly and had brown spots on them and were dropping off, can remember wondering what was the matter with it, but did look it up on the internet and it seems that quite a few had died and i visited Ashwood's Nurseries own garden last year and they had lost one too and noticed another one just up the road from me. (Ashwood's one was alot older than mine).
