This arch started life in another part of the garden - at the end of the lawn. We then built the wooden pagoda and the arch was in front of it - that didn't look right with two wooden structures superimposed on one another. "I've got just the right place" I said. I'd been wondering what to put as an entrance to the bottom garden - trees didn't look right - it needed a contrast and the fitted the bill perfectly. We measured the distance between the uprights and the size of hole needed. We carried the assembled structure carefully down the garden and placed it in the holes - and there it stood - perfect. We then protected the lower part of the posts with some off cuts of roofing felt and then put in concrete to stabilise them.
