The mystery plant
Comments on this photo
Well I cut it right back to the roots and have watered it every night and top fed it with compost which seams to have done the trick. Growing really fast. Its probably grown 3-4 inches this month. I'll post another pic now from ground level of it. Its next to the snapdragons which are growing tall

I wonder if it will turn out to be something like a Perennial Snapdragon such as (Antirrhinum braun-blanquetii)?

There are snapdragons right next to it but it's a darker leaf. Just see in bottom right hand corner of pic

I am assuming the darker ones are annual snapdragons? But have now seen your side ways pic the lighter ones I am stumped but I still think It will be worth the wait.

it looks like phlox to me but may be wrong, there is another plant i have in mind which has lots of yellow flowers also a thug but name has gone.

Yes the darker ones are snapdragons. Looking forward to them flowering soon. Think we have about 4 possible answers so far and the next pic i post is when it's in full flower. Hopefully then someone will know exactly what it is.
Had a look at some pics of phloax and you maybe right Sandra. Very similar leaves. Nice plant

just looked and all that mass doesnt look like it belongs to this plant, that looks more like a vinca aka perriwinkle,, strange, i would have said this plant would have thicker dead wood, only time will tell lol
26 Apr, 2010
Yes i got rid of all the dead shoots and took it right back to the ground. Thought i'd try that and if it didn't recover than dig it up. Thought nothing to lose really. So glad it's reacted to my drastic actions!! lol

Since the first pics I always have always thought it was a climber and thats still a possiblity Steve. Honeysuckle? I dont think it is?

My mate has a honeysuckle bush with exactly the same roots. Wonder if its a bush rather than a climber
