First Tulips

Display of Red Riding Hood Tulips in the garden. These are late this year because of the cold and the hard Winter.

These are my favourite tulips Bm. They never do well in my garden as the slugs seem to go for them and all that's left are stumps. They start on them as soon as they start shooting, i've tried all the usual deterrents- any ideas how to stop this happening?
