I haven't done anything except put her in a larger pot, you've answered a question I put on the other pic. Now I feel daft lol. Do you think she'll need a lot of shelter?

Like any new plant, the first year needs a bit of extra tender care, until the roots establish, but if you want to put it in the garden, you could always fleece it during the colder season and apply plenty of mulch to keep the base and roots well protected.
I think I was just unlucky that we had such a bad Winter, and it didn't help that mangy mutt, Raffles, had chosen it to be his p in post,no wonder the poor thing's traumatised (the Clematis~not the dog!). I haven't given up all hope of it yet!! As to the dog, well that's another story!!! Lol :~))

Think I'll put her up house wall 'though it means leaving her in a pot. Theres a pic in my Floripresent book showing a hinged one, but I'd be to afraid of injuring her, but it does show that a gap is needed for air flow so I think that's the best way, maybe use fleece too:-)

Glad to hear the floribook has given you some ideas, Ba, and having an airflow, helps keep it healthy. I would rather use overkill in frost protection, to start off with, than risk losing such a great plant, so fleece will help, and even in the pot, give it a generous amount of mulch to keep it warm~and hopefully, she will flower her little heart out for you, year after year.
The house wall will also give good protection :~))

This the variety I saw at local (expensive) GC for £46.99 on a frame or £19 in a pot. Needless to say they didn't get my money ! It's stunning though.
