This was another plant that appeared in the garden - I had no idea what it was until I asked a friend.

hi Netty hope you don't mind me saying but your friend has got it wrong this is an Allium christophii - or ornamental onion.

Thanks so much - you're right! I just looked on the internet and it is an Allium Christophii. Finally I get to the bottom of it!!
