The chickadee's now take a seed, hop over to the perch and hold it between their toes so they can eat it. I think it is adorable!

Thanks Michaella. Eating a seed, all the chickadees eat like this with the new perch. They used to grab a seed and fly back to the trees. I love them sticking around. :-)

Thanks. Isn't it? I love having a place for them to perform just outside my window now.

So true... and they've begun their spring song..... it's a long trill first..sweeeet sugar...followed by three staccato repetitions of the same notes...sweetsugar..sweetsugar sweetsugar! they are little acrobats and I've found sunflower seeds tucked in the oddest spots... you are quite right, Gt...Adorable!!

You've got the spring song spot on Lori. I've got as many boreal chickadee at the feeder this year as these. They don't sing much of a song, shy little things, but justs as welcome. The juncos have shown up too.
