Really?? I've got the offcuts from trellis's that i've just put up. Might see if i can make them look nice on the fence for it to grow up

it clings around things with tendrils, wrap around, so pinch out any side shoots and spare loose tendrils which encourages growth to

as they grow and you have stems branching out, then you may get little shoots comming from out of them stems near main stem, nip them out, imagine a tree trunk with branches, nip out side shoots, and tendrils are what cling to trellis, so any extrs tendrils nip of they take up engery from plant, is that explained better

have you put some netting at the back steve for them to climb, mine grew over 6ft last year
