Thanks Karen -you have done well to have a lettuce already I am still waiting for mine. I missed countryfile but can still see it on iplayer or something like that I think. Do you like my staging Karen it is two shoe racks upside down!.....lol :-)

What a great idea! nice recycling! When I had the zippy up, the wind destroyed it and I used the integral green mesh staging to grow climbers up on the fence. they are gone now, but they came in handy at the time!

Actually, I wish I'd kept them because they would have come in really handy for keeping my heavy boots off the seeded lawn patches!

Good luck mind you if i can grow lettuce leaves anyone can.start mine going in march, thinking of that the weather feels like March not May.

Mine have been outside since about mid March. I have a window box that has some salad bowl in there from last year and they are just showing signs of shooting again :-)

Got my greenhouse i put mine in, its only 6-4, but to say yours as been outside there doing well.

I have a window sill upstairs in the spare bedroom Carol stocked full of tomato and chillies -they are doing ever so well there. I tried them outside first and nothing happened as soon as I took them in they have put on a good spurt. I will take a photo later :-)

i bin piking chard since last summer and piked a few salard leves this week and 3 leekx and sum radish. xciting isent it lol just bought 2 pepper plants and more veg seeds ooooo carnt wait haha , i keep cking out ur guttering 2 c how its coing on .

Its good when you can just go out into the garden and pick a few veg Cristina isn't it -they seem to taste better than the ones in the shop too somehow...lol.
My lettuce is growing well in the guttering and the lettuce I had from Dig-in that is in the trough is doing well too-the warmer weather makes a big difference :-)

I was quite inspired by countryfile tonight Richard and we can pat ourselves on the back because we are doing our bit towards growing our own and reducing the amount of imported veg!! I ate my first lettuce this weekend...it was really good!
