Newbies: Aconitum

Newbies: Aconitum

I saw this in the canyon in the mountains and I had to have one. And here I find it at the nursery I'm working at. A welcome addition

Working at a nursery...oh my!...that can result in a lot of work "following" you home, lol! Hope you have stronger willpower than I do!

I needed something and the nursery is perfect. I lost much income though so I was good for a while........now their unloading freebies! AHHHH! I can always invest in perrenials and I've set aside some shrubs. :-) It is work like being in heaven.

TY Karen. I did know. Monkshood is a wildflower here as well in deep blue, blooms in about a month. I'm determined to get a shot. I have a preference for the poisonous plants, seems like they always just call out to me. I am careful, duly noted. :-)

Well there are so many poisonous plants aren't there...hard to avoid. I have especially strong feelings about this one as I had it in my garden when the children were very small and then I found out it was really really poisonous so it had to go and I got a bit of a fright! Now whenever I see it I have to tell everyone!....lol x

If I had children around, Karen things would be different around the garden for sure. I have a neighbor who brings down her daughters now and then, but they stay close and mind well during their visits, and I let them pick pansies. Continue the vigilance. At my grandfathers funeral all the children had been given long delphinium stems just before we were going back to eat. I hunted down every mother making sure they new the delph was poisonous and to have those children wash their hands!

Goodness! That's another one I wasn't aware of! I don't grow delphiniums though but they are very popular aren't they....hmmmm.....makes you think!

Delphinium is our city flower. You just have to put it in the ground and you've got them forever.
