This is the New Zealand tree Fuchsia. It was growing down a bank by a small foot bridge in our native bush and I was looking up at it, so it must have been 10 ft or more tall. The flowers are not very big, no more than an inch long. The Maori name is Kotukutuku and the berries are called Konini.

Ahhh Fuchsia!!! Don't you love them? They're so forgiving.... I have a lovely bush in the front garden, overlaps neighbours drive and to be fair, can get in the way. So not being an expert, I've done my best to prune without going too far, trying to bring the best out of it and discourage it from being a nuisance! But you know, even when you're convinced you've gone way too far, it always comes back even stronger - I just love this little fella! :)
Reckon your Kotukutuku would go down a storm with my neighbours!!!
