I rescued 3 small toads, 3 frogs and 7 newts that fell in a hole (a deep lying window) leading to my neighbour's cellar. It took me a very long time to 'fish' them out with a net.
They had lost a lot of weight. Poor things. Luckily for them, I was in charge of watering my neighbours' plants during their absence. Otherwise I would not have spotted them and it would have been Mozart's requiem...
