Yes, this is my afternoon cuppa seat Shirley! when there's nobody else here but me and the dog! bliss!

Oh, the joys of being retired eh ? : o ) ) )

Abso-bloomin-lutely! Mind you, I don't think of myself as 'retired' Shirley, just moved into a more 'supporting' role, which is where I've wanted to be all along really! I like being at home and I can support my extemely hard working, busy husband better by being here and looking after all the stuff that needs doing here (decorating etc.). When we were both trying to run businesses it was just too stressful ....for me!

My husband was in retail most of his working life, the cut-and-thrust profit regime led to depression, which he came through with our support and he then worked helping less able people. The whole 'profit first, people second' became too much, let alone the driving around the UK and the flights to Scotland ! Glad that's all over with.

I think retail must be one of the most soul-destroying work environments you can get into......nope, definitely not for me! Lots of therapy clients coming from that area. I bet the second job was much more rewarding!

Yes indeed, he worked with blind and partially sighted people at a hotel with the R.N.I.B. so it was a very rewarding job. Plus, I got to be his asistant on outings to the theatre and other venues! See, I do come in useful .. lol

Of course I would Richard.....you wouldn't get any cake or biscuits though.....I've eaten them all ....again!! ;)

Oh well, I'll have to pop out to the Co-op for new cake in that case!
