very big green caterpillar

We have never seen a bigger caterpillar than this one. At least 7 cm at his biggest. It had a fierce 'hook' at the end...

No, neither did we. It was really ENORMOUS!! Much longer than the photo suggests! We let it escape eventually. Wonder what it developped into in the end...

i think its a hawk moth...googled it and found a pic that looks the same.....try looking it up and see what you think....

I googled hawk moth larvae and indeed it looks like it.
Luckily we let it go its own way, and did not kill it.

We had never seen any translucent green ones like this one before. Nor so big!
