I stumbled across your picture of Weigela Versicolour . I bought mine about 20 years ago from Dr Smart's Garden at Marwood Hill in North Devon where he was experimenting with new forms of weigela. At the time he said he didn't even have a name for it but years later I saw it being marketed as Weigela "Strawberries and Cream" or something very close to that .
I was trawling around to see other pictures and comments on weigela because another old one of mine , the ruby red weigela, has this year reverted 100% to the pink form of Florida.
At the same time as we bought Versicolour we also bought one of his new sulphurous yellow weigelas but unfortunately my daughter's pet rabbit had the whole thing for lunch one day when we weren't looking and it never revived.

I have had several Weigelia taken from my previous house in 1998 which includes a Ruby Red its still a deep rich dark red Inverglen I do hope it does not revert.
