As you can see I dig and clear my side of Ground Elder Ivy etc but my neighbours both sides let it grow unchecked, when I was ill it quickly took over my beds and I wept when I saw it.

I did not know it looked like that. I just googled it to learn more about it, a recipe came up, so it is edible too... lol.

poor you Drc, i feel for you as i get neigbours brambles comming up my side grrr and ivy which i dont want

Yes it use to be eaten as a vegetable a long time ago presumably thats why it so wide spread. Brambles are nasty SB I have them down one side they come over and through the fence I have some nasty scratches sometimes.

i get scratched to and a nightmare pulling it up, since doing my pond area i try to check each day so it doesnt start to take over again.

I meant briers but similar to brambles for spines, they tear plants to bits when its windy too as they grow many feet long in the air and then suddenly flop down.

I have a problem with briers too from next door..flopping down my side of the hedge....

I share your pain and annoyance as I have to put up with exactly the same problem. This pic is the replica of my fence EVERY darn week before I do the weeding, it drives me CRAZY!!!!
