Hi Grandmage,
Now thàt's an idea ;-) Especially these last few days when it has been very hot and dry, I do seem to do nothing else than water all my plants indoors and pots and containers outside. I wouldn't mind so much if my feet were a bit better, so ... yes...a narrowboat and only a few pots, hmmm...that's a thought!
Our English son-in-law has had a narrowboat in London, Kings cross, for many years and we went there several times a year, we loved it! And I used to water the pots on the neighbouring boats when the owners were away for some time. They did not ask me so, I didn't even know them most of the time, but I simply can't let plants die out. And the London Canal museum, which is situated near those boats, had a few containers too, which rarely got watered, so I found it my duty to water them as well each day! They always looked much better after our stay in London! We haven't been there since 2008, for our son-in-law sold the boat after he moved to Belgium. I wonder if the plants are still alive! And you would not believe this, but I dó think of them occasionally. (One of the reasons for this is that I took some cuttings, and they are well established and looking really good over here in Belgium, so they remind me of the museum too!)

HI Hilda, you sound like me if I see any plant anywhere and it needs a drink, I panic and think 'where can I find some water' !!! I cannot bear to see them gasping, we went shopping to B & Q last week and I always wonder into the garden bit which is pathetic really but I like looking and nearly all the plants were dying of thirst ! I went to find someone who works there to tell them about it and ended up buying some herbs that needed saving !! What are we like ? Mind you the half dead sage and the nearly dead apple mint look lovely now and are coming on a treat in my care ! Now as for that narrowboat ------------ oh, to dream!

Hi Grandmage,
We seem to be like two peas in a pod! I also try to save dying plants in garden centres and even in cemeteries!! ( It gets even worse: I even try to save earthworms if I see them in a street, so I pick them up and put them back in the soil ;-) Dear oh dear!

Nothing wrong with that Hilda but next time take the said worm home to your own garden, ha ha . I even do the same at our cemetry, have a little tidy on the old graves!

I must tell my husband that there are more people out there just like me, for he is always telling me to act normal ;-)

You tell him to speak to me Hilda, I quite like being 'nuts' !! Joking aside, I think it is that we really 'care' about our environment :0))
